This post is the second part of my Kailash yatra and captures the preparation for the trip, briefly covering relevant logistics and my stay in Kathmandu.

Capturing my journey, a beginning in several ways, to Mt. Kailash. Mt.Kailash's parikrama is an aspirational journey for many Buddhists, Hindus and Jains with origins from the Indian subcontinent. This, is the first of a multi-part blog of my parikrama and charan sparsh of this sacred mountain.

The book Urban Naxals by film-maker Vivek Agnihotri is an eye-opener! The book is published by Garuda Prakashan and available at Garuda Books. It tells of his journey in making of the film “Buddha in a Traffic Jam” which exposed the nexus between an India-wide Maoist terror movement and their supporters in urban centers such as academia and media.

Shri Sita Ram Goel was a religious and political activist, writer, historian and publisher in the late twentieth century. He wrote extensively on the damage to Indian culture and heritage wrought by expansionist Islam and missionary activities of Christianity. In his later career, he emerged as a commentator on Indian politics, and adhered to Hindu nationalism. Historians like Goel published on topics which are considered absolute taboo by the mainstream media.
